CHILDBIRTH EXPRESS EXPECTANT PARENT WORKSHOP

with Bonu DeCAIRES

Get the inside perspective on giving birth in NYC hospitals from renowned doula, Bonu deCaires, during this two-part workshop on labor and delivery.

Learn how to navigate the extraordinary process of labor, delivery, and childbirth together with expert guidance in a 4 hour, two evening, virtual live, interactive, format. This condensed, fast paced workshop brings together local expectant parents while providing a wonderful introduction to childbirth education. The workshop is aimed at informing and empowering parents to be with the knowledge to make the best decisions for their unique experiences and personal preferences. This workshop is specifically geared towards helping parents make their experience of childbirth at NYC Hospitals, one that meets their and their baby's needs.

We will cover:

• Signs and Stages of Labor
• When to go to the hospital
• Basics on hospital options and medical care in NYC
• Overview on coping options
• Self-advocacy during the childbirth process
• Q&A

Bonu deCaires is a Certified Cooperative Childbirth Educator, through the Childbirth Education Association of Metropolitan New York (CEA/MNY), and a Certified Labor Support Doula and Labor Doula Trainer, through Doulas of North America. She holds B.A. in Biology from Amherst College, and a Master's in Nutritional Science from The University of Massachusetts. Bonu has completed a year of post graduate coursework in Anatomy and Physiology, and certified in adult and infant CPR and neonatal resuscitation. Bonu has taught doulas at teacher trainings, hundreds of parents at childbirth ed classes - and most importantly, served as a doula to over 600 women.
