TUNING INTO TODDLERS & YOUNG CHILDREN

with DR. REBECCA SCHRAG HERSHBERG

Dr. Hershberg will facilitate a lively and practical conversation about effective approaches for promoting positive and prosocial behavior in toddlers and young children. Dr. Hershberg will focus on how to better understand the normative disruptive behaviors that emerge during early childhood, and will share strategies for managing tantrums, defiance and aggression in ways that foster children’s coping skills, frustration tolerance, and healthy social-emotional development.

At this workshop, we will discuss:

  • How joint insight into child development and our own triggers can help us stay calm during difficult moments with our little ones.
  • How using a framework of “Love and Limits” can lead to more connected family relationships and a more peaceful home.
  • Ways to use structure and routines to help our children feel secure.
  • Strategies for helping young children adjust to difficult circumstances
  • Practical tools for managing "high-demand" times of day, transitions, working from home, and other daily struggles.
