About this event
Parent Like A Pediatrician: All The Facts, None Of the Fear For YOUR BABY'S FIRST YEAR.
with Dr. Rebekah Diamond - Via LIVE Zoom
Being a new parent is hard enough, and these days there are more expectations than ever, more advice to sort through, and more misinformation to make even the simplest choices feel needlessly complicated. When did parenting in the first year get so complicated?
In this talk, Dr. Rebekah Diamond, mother, pediatrician, and author of the book Parent Like A Pediatrician, will give you the tools you need to parent confidently and joyfully. Learn how to get the information you need, ignore the rest, and feel empowered as a parent during your baby's first year.
This event will give you the opportunity to ask questions and work through solutions using her realistic, scientific perspective. If you’re stressed with rigid or unrealistic parenting guidelines, but also want to avoid internet information overload filled with dangerous pseudoscience, this is the event for you.
ABOUT:
Born in New York City, raised in Connecticut, Dr. Diamond received her undergraduate degree from Yale University, and her M.D. from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Following completion her pediatrics residency training at the University of Michigan, she accepted a position as a pediatric hospitalist in New York City and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University, where she currently teaches.
Dr. Diamond’s training and practice requires that she stay up to date on all of the data behind what experts say are the safest and best choices for parents to make for their children. Dr. Diamond is also a mother of a young daughter, and knows firsthand the challenge of sorting through conflicting pediatrician and internet recommendations. She says: "It’s why I’m here to explain how pediatrician parents actually raise their own kids so you can make the safest, sanest choices for your little ones. Yes, the Internet broke parenting. But I’m here to fix it."
