HRP Mamas New Moms Support Group  [0-6 months group]

The HRP Mamas New Mom Support Group is a wonderful way to forge a strong bond with a core group of new moms who live in your neighborhood. The group is guided by an experienced and compassionate educator who weaves an educational component in to a non-judgemental support group.

Join us as we navigate each session with a guided focus on:

Session 1: Understanding The 4th Trimester
Session 2: Infant Sleep (a.k.a. When Do We Get Some?)
Session 3: Shifting Partner and Family Dynamics
Session 4: Heading Back to Paid Work / Being a Stay-At-Home-Mom / Working From Home
Session 5: Your Pelvic Floor & Self-Care Strategies

Each week we will leave room for additional topics that may arise based on the specific needs of the mothers in the group, such as:

- Feeding Support (formula, breastfeeding, pumping)
- Newborn Development
- Postpartum Recovery
- Sleep Strategies
- Infant Soothing Techniques
- Life with an infant during Covid-19
- Looking ahead past the infant stage
- Developing coping strategies for anxiety/worry
- Finding Childcare

In addition to the free/drop-in weekly HRP Mamas Mother's Talk Circles & the HRP Mamas Breastfeeding Support Sessions, our New Mom Support Group offers robust support for those early months of new motherhood.

Whether you are a first time mom, or have just welcomed a new sibling, we look forward to being there for you!

The group meets virtually via live, un-recorded private sessions. Mamas in the group are encouraged to meet-up in person and to continue meeting up beyond the guided sessions.

HRP Mamas educators and facilitators are non-judgmental, dedicated to maternal care and well being, and with decades of experience assisting mothers and new parents via birthing classes, lactation support, parent education and/or postpartum support groups.

Space limited to up to 12 mothers

-  Quotes From Past Participants of the HRP Mamas New Moms Groups

“I absolutely loved the new mom support group.  It was exactly what every new mom needs - meeting other moms with similar questions and concerns and professional guidance and answers to those questions. Vanessa leverages her professional knowledge and experience with her experiences as a mom of 2 to provide the best advice and guidance that is effective.  She gets to know each baby and mom and tailors her recommendations and ideas on what actually works for you!”

"Vanessa was fantastic and was an invaluable resource to my family and we made our way through the first several weeks answering questions and giving suggestions from everything from childcare, breastfeeding and mom-care.  Hearing that other moms had similar challenges and experiences we comforting and Vanessa did a great job moderating the group so we learned to help each other and establish a friendship.”

"I absolutely loved this class! Vanessa creates such a safe place to be open and vulnerable during such a tremendously transitional stage in your life. The topics that were covered were so helpful but most of all, the relationships made with other moms has been the best part!”

“From the first week I was able to see what a difference it made in terms of getting through an overwhelming, confusing time with more confidence.”

“All my questions and concerns were addressed from week to week, and for the ones I was too nervous to ask out loud, Vanessa made sure we dealt with them.”

“When the internet and family advice left me in doubt, I knew I could come to this group and hear personalized information that made sense for my family.”

“We were always encouraged to be real and honest, to come as we were, no matter what. I often showed up unshowered, in my yoga pants, vulnerable and tired, and left feeling rejuvenated.”

“From discussing in-laws to the witching hour to guilt to pumping to contraception, this group helped me feel safe to deal with the big and little things on my mind.”

"I'm so glad I invested in the support group. I picked up quite a few useful tips and techniques, but the best part for me was just having a pleasant, stress-free social activity to look forward to each week. Vanessa sets a very warm and genuine tone for the group.”
